I know it’s still early in the year, but it seems that 2018 is going to be a year of major change for our family and a year of many firsts. If you’re a regular reader, thank you, and of course you’ll be along for the ride. If you’re just finding us, the timing is perfect because you never know what I’ll be sharing in the upcoming months. Right now we’re starting to think about Easter (which coincidentally falls on April Fool’s Day this year which really opens up endless prank possibilities). Easter 2018 for our family is going to be very different from years past as my sister and her family including four nieces and nephews moved 2000 miles away last summer. So far we’ve had our first Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Birthday’s and now this Easter will be the first without them. We’ve always celebrated with them so in this year of transition, and so many 1st’s (without them), I think the time has come to also make this a year of establishing new traditions. I’m trying to focus on the new rather than dwelling on the negative aspects of these changes. What that means today is a fun, new treat that will be the perfect for everyone’s Easter celebrations.
You all know that preparing for any holiday or function where entertaining is involved, there’s a lot of prep work. I don’t like to run all over town; nobody’s got time for that. I prefer to hop to it and do a good portion of my shopping at WalMart. Everything you need for these Stuffed Candy Carrot Easter Treats can be purchased there as well. Winning!
Supplies
(1) pkg. Sugar Ice Cream Cones
(1) Bag Orange Candy Melts
(1) M&M’S® Caramel Laydown Bag
(1) STARBURST® Original Jellybeans Laydown Bag
Green Icing
Medium Mixing Bowl
Spoon
Paper Plate
Directions
Prepare candy melts according to instructions on bag. Once candy is melted and mixed until it has a smooth texture, coat the sugar cones. Place cones upside down on paper plate and refrigerate until candy is solid.
One candy coating is solid, fill the sugar cones with M&M’S® candies, STARBURST® Jellybeans, or any of your favorite Mars and Wrigley candies.
Use green icing to cover opening of sugar cone, helping keep candy inside the cone and creating the leafy top of your carrot.
Arrange and serve. Above all else have a sweeter Easter and make amazing memories!
