Everyone has, at some point in their life, had an embarrassing health problem, and if they say they don’t, they’re lying. For real, the body is a crazy thing and it pretty much does what it wants when it wants. From hemorrhoids, bed wetting, sweating or mental health, there are all sorts of health issues that people find embarrassing. However, like I said, everyone deals with something at some point so you can’t let the fact that you’re a little shy about it, stop you from getting whatever it is treated.
Excessive Sweating
If you’re suffering from excessive sweating then this could be caused by a number of things including exercise; some spicy foods, hot weather; anxiety and conditions such as conditions the menopause or diabetes and even certain medications. You can try treating excessive sweating yourself by changing your clothes and wearing loose-fitting, cotton clothing and breathable shoes. You could try relaxation techniques such as yoga or meditation as these practices may help to control whatever it is that is triggering the sweating. If you go to the doctor though you will hopefully be able to find out the underlying cause of the condition as there could be an infection or a thyroid problem, so it is important to get it checked out.
Vaginal Odor
Vaginal odor can become a problem if you have trapped moisture, a yeast infection, or potentially because of a sexually transmitted disease. There a a lot of variables. Try wearing cotton underwear and make sure you change it every day and after exercise. You could try a treatment like fleurstat, which is for bacterial vaginosis. If this problem persists or you have it a few times a year, then it’s a good idea to see a doctor. It’s also important to know that foods such as garlic, onions and asparagus may cause vaginal odor, while “sweet-smelling” fruits such as pineapple may also help to prevent it.
Constipation
Constipation can be caused by not having enough fluids, being stressed, or certain medications. If you want to try and get things moving by yourself, then you can try taking Milk of magnesia or other gentle laxatives. Exercise can also help to get things moving as can having a drink of coffee. If the problem persists, then a doctor may test for colon cancer or low thyroid and should be able to prescribe something to help you.
Flatulence
Did you know that if you smoke and you swallow air when doing so, then this can cause flatulence? Or equally, if you swallow air when you eat or talk too? There are many things that can cause this problem so if it’s something that’s particularly bothering you then you could try eating slower, taking activated charcoal or try and work out what foods trigger it and avoid those. A doctor may test for lactose intolerance or irritable bowel syndrome.
Rectal Itch
It’s so embarrassing when you walk down the road, and you need to scratch but you can’t. A rectal itch can be caused by poor wiping, anal warts, psoriasis or hemorrhoids. To avoid this, try wiping with unscented baby wipes rather than toilet paper and then apply nappy rash cream or antifungal powders. As always, a doctor’s advice is best but nobody can help you figure it out if you don’t ask. Stuff happens…dom’t let it make you miserable.
