Most of us dog owners adore our pets, and the thought of them not being around for the rest of our lives is beyond imaginable. Sadly, we can’t make them live forever, but we can take steps to help them to live the healthiest and happiest life possible for as long as possible.
Feeding
For example, many dog owners feed their four-legged friends scraps from the table. However, we know that this is not particularly healthy for them, especially when it comes to foods such as chocolates, raisins, grapes and onions. These foods are poisonous to dogs and can cause serious illness, if not death.
Dental
We also need to be taking good care of their teeth. Just like with humans, poor dental care can lead to all sorts of health problems, some quite severe, for your dog. This includes abscesses and heart disease, as well as general pain and discomfort. Have their teeth regularly checked by a vet, and have them cleaned when you can. Feeding the correct food can also go along way towards protecting their mouths.
Mental Health
Many dogs, just like humans, suffer from mental health issues, such as anxiety. We often have no choice but to leave them alone shut up in a house for hours on end while we are at work. Many dogs can cope with this, but many find this difficult to deal with as they are sociable creatures. This infographic below shows how CBD treats can help to keep dogs calm and ease anxiety.
