I received a Nescafe Dolce Gusto Piccolo Machine free for review purposes, but my opinions and my love for great coffee are 100% my own. This post contains affiliate links.
If you know anything about me at all, you know I’m a coffee addict. I drink it pretty much every day and lots of it. Hubby says I’m a coffee snob because I can be pretty picky about my coffee…I know what I like and a bad cup of coffee can ruin the day before it even gets started. I was pretty stoked to check out the Dolce Gusto Piccolo machine by Nescafe because it looked like there were some pretty awesome flavor options to go along with it.
I’ll start by saying that if you’re a heavy coffee drinker, this may not be the machine for you, rather you may be more interested in one of the larger models with all the bells and whistles, but it’s perfect for those who just make a cup at home occasionally, on the weekend, or a single cup in the mornings before they take off for work. Since the footprint on this machine is small I can definitely see this being the perfect addition to my camper, or perfect in a college dorm for those late night study sessions!
I love that this machine was super easy to set up — literally it took me about 5 minutes from opening the box to having my first cup of coffee, and that included a quick glance at the instruction manual to make sure I was doing everything right (which I was because it was so dang easy!).
The coffee came out great – I tried the Latte Macchiato and it was creamy and rich with just the right amount of espresso. I did add a little extra sweetener, but I tend to do that regardless so that’s definitely personal preference and no reflection of the quality of the coffee. I am super excited to try all of the other flavors now!
For those of you that are into details and technical specs, what I can tell you about this machine is that:
- Single-serve capsule system offers coffeehouse quality drinks without the messy cleanup
- Pop in the capsule for a single-serve coffee experience
- Compatible with Nescafe Dolce Gusto capsule flavors
- Customize your coffee’s strength and mixture (for multi-capsule drinks). It also lets you alternate between hot and cold beverages in an instant
- Drip Tray is height adjustable with stainless steel grid for any size cups and glasses (Dishwasher safe/proof)
All in all, I think it’s a great machine at a very affordable price for people that only need to make a few cups a week at home or for those that need to optimize space in the kitchen (or camper or dorm). Since it is a manual machine, you can’t just push a button and come back later for your cup of joe, but it only takes a few seconds to brew a cup, so you’re not standing there waiting forever either. If it sounds like something you need to have or like the perfect gift for the upcoming holidays, be sure to pick one up here.
