The 3 Best Ways To Deal With Back Pain

November 14, 2019 by Alison Leave a Comment

Lower back pain is quite common these days due to the lifestyle that a lot of us lead. You know, busy, stressful ones. There are all sorts of different causes, like sitting at a desk all day long or sleeping on a bad mattress, or maybe even from exercising. Living with back pain can be difficult and it can be quite restrictive. In most cases, it will pass fairly quickly, but if you experience constant back pain, you need to find ways to manage it. These are the best ways to deal with back pain.

Sort Your Posture

Bad posture is one of the main reasons that people experience back pain. If you work in an office job and you are sitting down all day long, you probably have an issue with posture and it can cause a lot of back pain. Most of us are guilty of slouching in our chair, and it’s hard to avoid it. But if you want to sort your back pain out, you need to sort your posture first. Always make an effort to sit up straight and take regular breaks to get up and walk around a little. You can also do some simple stretches to correct your posture and strengthen your muscles so it’s easier to maintain good posture.

You also need to be careful when using your phone because that can lead to back problems as well. Smartphones can be great for managing your health in some ways, but they also cause a common issue called text neck. This is when your neck and back are damaged by constant staring downwards at your phone, and if you aren’t careful, it will cause a lot of back pain. You should make an effort to cut back on your phone use and when you do use it, hold it directly in front of your face.

Consider Spinal Injections

If you are living with severe back pain all of the time, you need to find long term solutions that give you relief. You should look into spinal injections for back pain if you cannot find relief from things like painkillers. They will provide you with relief that lasts days, weeks, or even months if you are lucky. This is the best long term solution for people that are living with chronic back pain.

Wear The Right Shoes

Most people don’t think about their shoes when they are trying to find relief from back pain, but they can make a big difference. If your shoes do not give you enough support, it can cause you problems with your posture and lead to back pain. This is especially true if you are exercising, but it’s important that you wear supportive shoes at all times. When you are exercising, make sure that you wear some good running shoes that fit your feet properly. It’s a good idea to get a gait analysis from a running shop so you know what kind of support you need. When it comes to everyday footwear, you should try to avoid wearing unsupportive shoes like sandals or slip-on trainers too often.

These are some of the best ways to deal with your back pain but if it persists, you should seek the advice of a doctor.
